2013 AP Scholars

Advanced Placement

Theodore High School is a member of the College Board and is involved with the Advanced Placement (AP) program.  AP credit is granted only to those students who successfully complete the advanced placement examination.  

The College Board's Advanced Placement Program® (AP®) provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. About 20 percent of the 2.1 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.

The following AP courses are available at THS: Calculus AB, Statistics, Chemistry, Microconomics, English Language, English Literature, Environmental Science, European History, Comparative Government and Politics, Human Geography, Psychology, Spanish Language and Culture, Studio Art 2-D design, Studio Art 3-D Design, Studio Art Drawing, Computer Science,  and  United States History.

Nineteen Theodore High Students Earn AP Scholar Awards

Nineteen students at Theodore High School have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams. 

One student qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. This student is Jeremy Shiver.

Three students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken,and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. These students are Jessica Silva, Nicholas Wager, and Samantha Woods.

Fifteen students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with scores of 3 or higher. The AP Scholars are Lindsey Ballard, Katie Beasley, Kayla Conte, Ashley Drischel, Julius Enriquez, Michael Evans, Taylor Guy, Desiraye McKeel, Heath McLaney, Courtney Miller, Briana Rucker, Blake Shepherd, Andrew Shepler, Carmen Weaver, and Karissa Yeager.

Eleven Theodore High Students Earn AP Scholar Awards

Eleven students at Theodore High School have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams. 

One student qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of 4 or higher on a five-point scale on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. This student is Leah O' Rourke, the class of 2014 valedictorian.

Five students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. These students are Natalye Bordelon, Lauren Hodges, Leah O'Rourke, Michael Rae, and Nicole Stout.

One student qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken,and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. This student is Gracie Hutto.

Five students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with scores of 3 or higher. The AP Scholars are Kayla Freeman, Tory Hale, Chelsea Helton, Heath McLaney, and Stanley White.
